HA LONG BAY, VIETNAM
Hạ Long Bay is in northeast Vietnam, and is known for its emerald waters and thousands of towering limestone islands topped by rainforests. Junk boat tours and sea kayak expeditions take visitors past islands named for their shapes, including Stone Dog and the Teapot Islands. The region draws scuba divers, rock climbers and hikers looking for a glimpse of unspoiled beauty. An American Express Commercial was famously filmed here.
I did a two-day cruise to tour the bay. Each tower was more beautiful than the one before.
